Clamshell Sealing

MSL Packaging & Fulfillment designs and seals RF clamshell packages.  RF clamshell sealing utilizes radio waves directed through two or more layers of plastic (PVC, PET, or PETG). This process changes the polarity of the plastic molecules causing a rise in temperature. Pressure in combination with radio waves and heat realigns the molecular structure thus creating a seal greater than if not equal to the original material strength. RF clamshell applications produce a highly secured package. Inner graphic flexibility allow a highly visible product commonly used in retail and club-store environments.

MSL Packaging & Fulfillment uses Visual KS4000 Series RF sealing machines. These machines are ideal for low to medium volume or JIT production. The KS4000 shuttle can achieve speeds of up to 8 cycles per minute using one or two operators. These high-quality RF sealing machines are ideal for start-up operations, cellular manufacturing, cosmetics and related health & beauty products. KS Series shuttles are designed to accept packages that have been assembled off-line to be loaded and unloaded by hand. The sealing cycle is automatic. Packages may be sealed and trimmed (tear seal) or sealed only depending on the tooling style purchased.
